Scientific news:

Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity (NCGS)

We have received a certain amount of questions from partners:

Is ImuPro also suitable for the diagnosis of NCGS?

Would ImuPro help to deal with NCGS?

NCGS is becoming a very interesting topic. We should be prepared for these questions. Dr Camille Lieners gives this answer:

In the literature one can currently read that no reliable test for NCGS exists. This is attributed to the reality of current Celiac specific tests seemingly inappropriate for this fairly new diagnosis. The tests available are not specific to gluten sensitivity, but to tissue specific antigens like Transglutaminase. The anti-gliadin tests currently performed are lacking sensitivity, as they are calibrated to correlate with the biopsy in case of Celiac Disease. Other markers, such as genetic determination of DQ2 and DQ8 are equally lacking sensitivity.

We could see in the past that 96-98% of ImuPro patients with elevated or highly elevated IgG levels towards gluten, do not suffer from Celiac Disease, but they are sensitive to gluten in the sense that their symptoms diminished upon an eviction of gluten.

Dr Mussi, interviewed in this Newsletter has published an article where he compares ImuPro gluten results with classic gliadin tests performed in French laboratories. He found exactly the same ratio and postulates a new clinical entity of gluten sensitivity.

Interview:

Dr Roger Mussi, member of the Scientific Advisory board, particularily interviewed with regard to NCGS. Dr Roger Mussi finished his medical studies in 1992 after having achieved his diplomas in physical education and sports, physiotherapy and osteopathy. He already then was an international level junior athlete. He is specialised in osteopathic medicine, anti-aging, functional medicine and micro nutrition, preventive as well as predictive medicine. His main focus in immunonutrition is on food hyper sensibility and intolerance.
